Hidden History: H St. NE is a mini-documentary profiling the neighborhood's history and the community's efforts to survive and thrive after the COVID-19 pandemic. This story took shape over five months, through nine interviews with community leaders and attendance at numerous community events, to capture the life and essence of the neighborhood. Everything was then edited down to a polished piece. Directed, produced, shot, and edited by James Mae.
This story follows the efforts by the local non-profit, WellFed, an organization run by fired federal workers in D.C. They assist their fellow fired workers by providing food, career, and other financial support. Directed, produced, shot, and edited by James Mae.
